The Cannonball A5 Big Bell® Stone Series® is a premium professional alto saxophone built for players who want a broad, warm and powerful sound combined with fast response, excellent projection and a wide dynamic range. This A5 is finished in Mad Meg™, Cannonball’s distinctive unlacquered finish. The bare brass body and keys are designed to develop a natural patina over time, giving each instrument its own individual appearance. Premium Big Bell® Stone Series® The A5 is the premium version of Cannonball’s Big Bell® Stone Series® alto saxophone. Compared with the standard A4, it features additional semi-precious stones, two hand-customized necks and an upgraded professional case. The one-piece hand-hammered Big Bell® is designed to produce a warm, full-bodied sound with excellent resonance and projection. The bell, bow and necks are annealed during production, and the bell is subsequently hand hammered to enhance resonance and response. Two hand-customized necks The A5 is supplied with two individually hand-customized necks: a matching Original neck and a silver-plated FAT Neck®. Cannonball acoustically adjusts each neck specifically for the individual instrument to optimize projection, tonal richness and intonation. The FAT Neck® is designed for a freer-blowing response with additional emphasis on the middle and lower frequencies, giving the player a second tonal option from the same instrument.
