The Cannonball A5-30 30th Anniversary Special Edition is a premium professional alto saxophone created to celebrate 30 years of Cannonball Musical Instruments. Based on the Big Bell® Stone Series®, it combines Cannonball’s characteristic broad, warm sound with an exclusive anniversary finish, premium engraving and Blue Sodalite semi-precious stones.

30th Anniversary Special Edition

The A5-30 is finished in Deep Black Sapphire Lacquer on both the body and keys. It features Cannonball’s exclusive Grand Galaxy premium hand engraving, executed by Cannonball artisans in the USA, giving this anniversary model a distinctive and highly detailed appearance.

Blue Sodalite semi-precious stones are fitted to the key touches, both necks and the bell key guard. Cannonball uses these stones not only as a visual signature, but also as part of its patented approach to influencing the instrument’s resonance.

Big Bell® Stone Series® performance

The one-piece hand-hammered Big Bell® is designed to produce a bold, warm and resonant sound while retaining the flexibility required for subtle playing. The bell, bow and necks are annealed during production, while the bell is subsequently hand hammered to enhance resonance and response.

Each A5-30 is supplied with two individually hand-customized necks: a matching Original neck and a silver-plated FAT Neck®. Cannonball’s acoustical technicians adjust each neck specifically to the individual instrument for projection, tonal richness and precise intonation.
