Gerald Albright brings saxophone, bass and a deep sense of groove together in a career spanning contemporary jazz, soul and R&B. His work ranges from studio sessions and international tours to recordings under his own name.
From Los Angeles to the international stage
Raised in Los Angeles, Gerald studied at the University of Redlands before building a career as both a saxophonist and bassist. His studio and touring credits include Anita Baker, Whitney Houston, The Temptations and Phil Collins. That experience across different musical settings is an important part of his versatility.
A solo voice in contemporary jazz
His first solo album, Just Between Us, appeared in 1987. Later releases include Groovology, Sax for Stax and Slam Dunk. Alongside his own recordings, he has collaborated with Norman Brown and the Summer Horns project with Dave Koz and friends.
A personal connection with Cannonball
The Gerald Albright Signature Series was developed with his involvement in the engraving, finishes, pads and stone selection. The instruments feature multicoloured Picasso Jasper. Soprano, alto and tenor models are available; the alto and tenor models include an original neck and a FAT Neck.
