Costantino “Kosta” Ladisa is an Italian saxophonist, composer and producer whose work brings together soul, funk and smooth jazz. A long-standing member of Adika Pongo, he combines performing with writing, production and music for film and television.
From Bari to Rome
Born in Bari in 1965, Kosta first studied guitar before saxophone became his main instrument. He moved to Rome in 1987 and has played with Adika Pongo since 1994. His career includes live performances, studio work and appearances on Italian television.
Collaborations and creative projects
His musical story includes work with guitarist Steve Khan and performances with Lionel Richie, Robbie Dupree and former Chic vocalists Norma Jean Wright and Luci Martin. He also created the television programme Sound Around and has written music for documentaries and cinema. Projects such as Da Nu Jazz 4et, Groovin’ High and Italian Groove Collective reflect his interest in groove-led music.
Cannonball on stage
Kosta’s own biography records his Cannonball endorsement from 2015, initially on curved soprano and tenor, later also on alto. The videos below show different sides of his playing: a performance with The Cannonballs and a live showreel with Groovin’ High.
